February 2020's adventures

College is all about doing spontaneous things right? Well, I was with my friends one weekend and at midnight everyone decided they wanted to go camping. We grabbed what blankets and hammocks we had and headed to Kawela Bay! I hadn't ever been to this beach so I wasn't sure where we were walking. We found a spot in the trees right next to the beach! I think everyone stayed up till sunrise chit-chatting. Non the less we had a great time watching the stars and listening to the wild pigs in the distance run around. Hawaii camping is so much fun because it's warm and you get to fall asleep with the sound of the ocean!

Sam took me on another hike to Pali Notches. This hike is short and steep. At the top, I thought I was going to blow over because of all the wind. It was so intense. We stood up for a quick picture before getting down on all fours to crawl across the cliff.

One Sunday afternoon we went to Kuli'ou'ou ridge on the east side of the island. I went with Tyler, David, and Sam. We had an amazing sunset to watch from the top. This hike was extra fun because at the end you could go to a secret cliff lookout. To get there you have to climb many ropes. We had to walk down in the dark. I swear we got lost a few times.

I also hiked Stairway to Heaven again! This time we brought a bigger group with us. I think this hike is becoming my new favorite! The clouds cleared at the top so were able to see a view of the whole island! It was a truly beautiful site to see. The mountains have become my happy place. I could spend all day up soaking in the views. Also, hiking with friends is the best because there aren't any distractions and we all just get to talk and be with each other. I have gotten to know Sam so much more and we are having the best time going on adventures! And of course, the month ended on Leap Day so we had to watch the movie Leap Year! We took a picture to remember.

The End of 2025
