February 20 2022

 Another week!

On Monday it was Valentine's Day! Gavin and I were separated and that was sad and hard for us. It's probably the only day that should be set apart to spend with the person that you love most. We did facetime and spread our love via facetime. Sure grateful we have technology where we can do this. It sure makes the long-distance a whole lot easier.

That night I went and had a beach picnic with the girls. It was me Sarah, Anna, and Mya! We had pizza, cake, and chocolate-covered strawberries. It was so cute and fun. The twins really outdid themselves. We sat on Bikini beach and watched the sun sent over the Ko'olau mountains. So beautiful. I love these girls and am grateful for the friendship I have with them. I know it will carry on forever!

This week I have started going through my room to sort through some of my things before I move. I have really inherited a lot of things since I moved to Hawaii. I tend to hold on to things that don't really seem that important. I am however proud of myself because I have gotten rid of a TON of things. I'm hoping to move pretty much everything the day I get married which is in 3 weeks. Holy cow I can't believe it. We have been doing so much wedding planning looking at all the details and everything we need.

I started learning the Hula with Kalia and it's actually been going pretty good. I am so glad that I took the Polynesian Dance class because I feel like I understand rhythm and the basic footwork better.

On Thursday I was feeling pretty sad that I wasn't with Gavin and I felt so bad that Gavin was just by himself all day in a hotel room. I was talking to Sarah and Anna about it and they encouraged me to go and with help from them, I was able to buy my ticket and fly over!

I had a bundle of nerves flying over because you never know how it's going to go when you surprise someone. I went into the room beforehand and dropped off all my stuff in the closet and left the room right before he got off of work. Once I knew he was inside I knocked on the door. I waited and waited and thought for a moment that he wasn't going to answer. When all of a sudden he opened the door and I saw him standing in his bathrobe. It was awesome! We had a joyful reunion and a wonderful night.

On Saturday morning we had to move hotel rooms so we packed all our luggage up to bring to the storage room. The bellhop people are a crack up because they are so serious about their carts and they always forget who we are. They are forgetting that Gavin lives here and that he is the new manager. And one guy always makes comments about how much stuff we have. This is odd because it's really not that much stuff and we are moving here. WE HAVE STUFF people.

We ended the night by watching Dirty John. We love a good TV show.

Kauai is so beautiful and I can't believe that I am going to live here in a couple of weeks. Like how??? I have been applying to so many jobs we will see where I end up. Just loving everything right now. I am happy healthy and well. Looking to the future with faith and hope!

Adventures of the week!

On Friday we got the girls together for the new movie called "Marry Me" I love a good chick flick so it was super fun to be at theaters with my girls. There is no movie theater on Kauai so I need to take advantage of all the opportunities right now to see things on the big screen! The movie was hilarious and I was just laughing the whole time. What a fun Galentines Friday night!

On Saturday I said goodbye to my car, Tony because it's getting shipped to Kauai for Gavin. I sure get lucky sometimes because my car had too much gas and they usually don't take a car that is that full of gas. But the lady decided she was going to let it slide just this one time. Thank goodness. I had the car jam-packed with all of Gavin's things. He is officially all over in Kauai now!

I also went paddle boarding with the twins up Kahana bay. I've never really been super far up the river but it's something I pass all the time. It's one of

my favorite parts of the island. After we got yummy coconut ice cream. I sure am blessed with the best of friends. Sarah and Anna and I just get each and we get along so well. I am sure going to miss these girlies when am gone.

On Sunday Sam my cousin was a sweetheart and treated Jansen and me to a massage. It was incredible! Seriously one of the best I've ever had. Or one of the only ones I have ever had. My back has been super sore and I am not sure why. It feels strained or something so the message came at the perfect time. But of course, Jansen and I were running late and missed our appointment but once again the luck came in because we were able to take two people's 4 o'clock appointment. We were in the couple's room so were by each other the whole time. We were laughing and having a grand old time. One of the best nights!

Goodbye Laie Hello Kauai 2022

Well, this week was just a jammed pack with a whole bunch of craziness. It was Gavins last week on the Island before his big move to Kauai.

On Friday we had a beach Bonfire with all of our friends. We just talked story, ate smores, and lit off sparklers. I can't believe that Gavin is leaving and that the next time we spend a lot of time together it will be in Kauai when we are married! Gah, I am so excited! So ready to be with my man.

On Saturday we both flew out to Kauai for Gavin's first day on his big job. We both had 2 big suitcases each along with a on board bag and personal items. We have been talking about Kauai for the longest time honesty and I can't believe that we are actually on our way and that Gavin is starting a big job! When we landed we went straight to the Marriott to check into the hotel. Everyone thought we were tourists and seemed quite surprised when they saw two white people from Oahu who are checking in for the management position. Great times.

This hotel was a little too bougie for us because we weren't sure if we are were supposed to wheel our bags to the room or if they are. As soon as we got to the room we scarfed down the whole box of chocolates on the lanai overlooking our view of the lagoon on the resort.

The Sheraton Kauai resort is beautiful. We have a lagoon view which means we can see the canal. On our first day we honestly just enjoyed the resort. Gavin went on a tour of the resort with his boss. She was speaking super fast and introducing him to tons of new people as the "new manager" so that is exciting. I am so proud of Gavin and his job. He really is the hardest worker and deserves this opportunity. He worked so hard in school. We both feel so blessed that we have the opportunity to move to Kauai, get married, and start our lives here. honestly, we owe it to God. Just feel so grateful for everything.

Our cars weren't on the island yet so we walked over to the shopping market to get a burger from Bubbas and some groceries at Long's. After we watched the sun sent as whales swam by. It was honestly so magical and fun. I can't believe that we are going to live here.

We finished off the night with a swim in the hot tub and the Hulk which I think we didn't even make 4 minutes into the movie.

It just felt so nice knowing that we are so close to living together forever. We are both praying that we can get housing.

On Sunday our Friend Eve picked us up and took us to church in our new ward. It was a good Sunday and I'm excited to join a family ward. After Eve was so kind and made us the best Acai bowls, hemmed Gavin's pants, made us dinner, and drove us to meet some new friends David and Kassidy. Seriously the nicest girl ever. So excited to move here and know that I already have a friend. She is the greatest.

Wonderful weekend in Kauai. I really don't want to leave tomorrow. I can just enjoy the rest and do whatever I want for free. What a life. So happy honestly!!
