One of the young women got baptized this month! Her name is Kaya and she was invited by her friends (the other girls in yw's) to come to church and the yws activities. Her dad enjoyed taking her and meeting the other members of the ward and they both decided to take the lessons and be baptized! Kaya is the sweetest little thing and I have loved watching the other girls love her and teach her. On her baptism day, she sat on a chair at the church while all the other girls brushed her long hair. They told her Kaya don't be nervous you will do great," you are going to do so good," and "you are so brave." It was so sweet. I loved watching her smile. We as a presidency chipped in to get her a set of scriptures Red is her favorite color so we got her own red scripture set. The bookstore was kind and shipped them in 2 days when I told them it was for an 11-year-old girl getting baptized. She was so happy when she opened it. The other girls also spoiled her with so many, flowers. It was such a precious and beautiful baptism. Kaya shared her testimony about how happy she is when she is at church. Rutsy talked about his joy in knowing he can be with his daughter forever!

Kaya's Baptism, Yw's and missionaries!
We had homemade crepes afterward in the parking lot. A ton of people from the ward showed up to support her.
The following Monday Gavin and I decided to take the missionaries on a hike! We decided to do a waterfall one because the missionaries said they wanted to see an awesome one! We were thrilled when we found out Elder Howells is now serving on Kauai. We fed him his very first dinner on Oahu back when we were dating. We had so much catching up. Some of the missionaries weren't as prepared for the hike. One of them started hiking with his airpods in and shortly up the path they fell out in the stream... The sisters came in sweatpants and tennis that got soaked... They were all there for the adventure though. When we got to the waterfall Gavin jumped right in and was swimming enjoying the water. The missionaries watched and kept talking about how refreshing the water was. As we were there enjoying the falls I looked over and saw they were slowly getting deeper and deeper into the water. Soon they were up to their knees and they were bending down putting the top of their head in the water and then flinging it up in the air. Then out of nowhere Gavin came and tackled E Howells into the water. He was submerged completely and the other missionaries started roaring in laughter. I guess this missionary was just the AP before he came to Kauai so he has been a little strict on the rules. I secretly think he liked being pushed in because he was smiling quite big after. On the way back down one of the other Elders fell off the rock into the pool of water below. Darn, it! ;)
But we sure did have a good time goofing off with the missionaries good times good times!

March Days
We did a lot of this during March! Lots of work, relaxation, books, and movies. We sure do love our little life together.
Gavin also enjoyed tons of golf. I went with him several times. We went to the driving range together and practiced hitting the balls. While we were golfing we got a text from Graham showing the footage he got of the house in Heber that had what looked like 5 feet of snow in the yard... We were sure grateful that we could be walking around in the sun after seeing that.
We took advantage of the good weather and days off by hiking. This was a 7-mile trail that we ran to help us train for our half marathon in April. When we got to the bottom I couldn't believe how beautiful it was. I was grateful that someone at the top took our picture so that we could always remember it. Our phones weren't the only thing we regretted during this run. We didn't have any water with us either. We were panting pretty strong by the time we got back to the car. But we survived!
Sarah and Anna came over to visit for a week. We enjoyed outdoors chats, food, and the out doors! They came on pie day so we had to treat our self to some ourselvesPie of course! Sure do love Sarah and Anna.

For the past year, we have heard so many people rave about this hot dog place in Poipu called Puka Dog. We decided to give it a try because who doesn't love a good hot dog? We stopped by this place on News Years and the line was literally a mile long for the dog so we were surprised on this Monday afternoon to not see a soul in sight as we walked up. The menu is simple: you choose a Polish or vegan hot dog and then mustard. I guess the mustard is what makes the hot dog so amazing. While Gavin ordered for us, I could see a pile of dogs sitting in the corner of the grill in the kitchen. The workers were in their late teens and they were slurping soda with headphones in each hear laughing at some meme on their phones. Let me just say I wasn't impressed with their service, atmosphere, or dog. This spectacular dog is just a normal hot dog in a hallow bug smothered in mustard. We were not sure what the rave was.. But we were sure disappointed. We did howeverlate-night love the view of the rainbow we saw from the parking lot.

On March 15th we celebrated our 1 year anniversary! Gavin surprised me at work with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a lei. He came and delivered them in the suit he wore when we got married. When I got home he was making dinner for me. We enjoyed some burgers together that night. I sure do love Gavin so much. He is patient, hardworking, supportive, and happy! I sure do love my man!
It has sure been fun working with each other at work. Gavin stops by my desk all the time to see me. He popped by one day in this wig.
One of my favorite adventures we did this month was waterfall repelling! Our friend Braden loves rock climbing and repelling so he took us to this secret waterfall fall in Kalaheo to repel. The hike to get to this waterfall was no joke. There is no trail so we cut through trees and busing to get there. The boys were talking about sports while hiking and they were going so fast I was glad they weren't asking me anything because I was huffing. The waterfall was much bigger than I thought it was going to be and wasn't sure about repelling it when I was told the rope doesn't go all the way to the bottom so you just have to free fall once you get to the end. Gavin went first and I watched for about 4 seconds till he disappeared in the waterfall. I saw him way below and he gave me the thumbs up which meant my turn. I slowly made my way down only slipping a few times. The water felt amazing! I lowered myself while feeling the rush of freshwater running down my body. It was so loud in the waterfall I couldn't hear anything it was just me and the falls. Once I made it to the bottom of the rope I could hear Gavin yelling "GO MAL" and I dropped right into the pool beneath. It was so much fun! We splashed and swam around a bit before heading back.
