Just January

January started with a girl's night! We decided to make Haku's out of fresh flowers we gathered from around Laie. We all went around picking the types of flowers we wanted to put on our crowns. This island never as a shortage of flowers I can tell you that much. We made our Haku's at Sarah and Anna's house. They now live in the Barbie dream house on the point. We had an ocean view while we made them. Sarah and Anna took a class the week before so they were teaching the rest of us how to make them. We snapped some pictures after at Bikini Beach. Some of us didn't wrap our flowers tight enough so the flowers and greenery blew away with the first gust of wind. I loved how big Sarah made hers. She had a full-on flower crown! In the picture below we have Anna, Ava, Hannah, Kadee, Anela, Me, and Sarah. We love our girl time!

We also had another fabulous night in town. We watched the sunset and had charcuterie. I am telling you my girls know how to throw a party. We had so much yummy food and the company was just amazing. Just a causal January night that ended up being one of my favorites.

What other better way to celebrate the new year than by hiking Stairway to Heaven! This time I convinced AVa to come with me! I hyped her up the whole time telling her she could do it. And she did! We had the best weather and time doing it together. This was also Hannah, Kadee, Sarah, Anna and Gavin's first time. We spent hours on the stairs admiring the views. I am telling you that the stairway to Heaven offers some of the most beautiful views I have ever soon. I can't believe that Heaven is going to look better than this.

Ava had some friends come and visit from the mainland. All of them are leaving for missions in the spring. Kennedy is amazing at taking pictures. She took some of us one evening on the beach. We also went and hiked to a waterfall one afternoon and every single time I do this hike it's dumping buckets, freezing and muddy. Today was no different. We decided to leave our dry clothes in the car and just enjoy every raindrop. We felt so alive hiking in the pouring rain. We were all soaking wet breathing in the dam earth while our feet squished through mud holes. The waterfall was all muddy because of all the runoff from the mountains non of us wanted to swim in the poopy-colored water. Even though we that same color. After the hike, we were trying to wash our feet off in the gutter. Just a January that was filled with friends, rain, and memories that will last forever!
