August has been absolutely dreamy. The month has consisted of no school and all fun! My kind of month! We went on a sailing adventure with Aysias chiropracher one evening on the North Shore and I was so sick the whole time. I could manage to sit up for only a couple of photos before I had to sit back down. I have never been so nauseous in my whole entire life. I was sitting on the back of my boat with a ginger ale in my hand praying I wasn't going to vomit. I don't think I am a boat gal sadly. My friends however had the most amazing time! And you wouldn't know looking at these pictures that I was so sick.

August's Adventures
We went to Sacred Falls again! This hike is definitely on my top three. It's so beautiful back in the valley. We went with a loud crowd and we had the best time swimming in the falls! We went on a Sunday morning before church. We all washed off with ginger shampoo in the falls. A very refreshing waterfall. I couldn't believe how long Jansen's hair was! This was my first time meeting her and we have so much in common. She was making me laugh so hard.
Life at the preschool is good. We are finally getting more students back since the Rona started. Thankfully we don't have to wear masks. There is no way I could teach in a mask all day. This little kid is one of my favorites. He has all silver teeth and always has some sort of fade tattoo on him. Cool kid for sure.
One of my favorite times of the day to swim is at sunset. This is when the sun casts the most perfect orange glow on the water. I could look at that color all day. Also, I love swimming with the girls!
I took Ava out to Chinamans hat one afternoon and we had the whole place to ourselves. I kept thinking we were going to get stuck in a massive storm because the clouds were so dark but we had nothing but warm water and clear views! I love the view of the Kualua mountain range from the top of Chinamans. Truly one of the best views ever!
We did another campout this month. I know you are probably thinking how many campouts are there in Hawaii? Well, a ton. This time we hiked to another secret cabin up in Laie. It took us almost 6 hours! It was one of the worst hikes I have ever been on. The trail was so overgrown we were all getting scratched by thorns the whole time. My legs were raw after. And there was so much mud. We were all trying to be careful at first not wanting to get any on us. But after an hour we just wanted to be done so walked right through. The mud was up to our knees. The cabin was definitely cool to see and I felt so accomplished hiking so far to get there. That night we hung from the rafters singing and celebrating with all the junk food we carried up. We always have strawberry belts on our campouts! However, sleeping with super muddy legs and knowing what I had to face in the morning was awful! Straight up awful! We all had good attitudes and laughed about it on the way down. Good thing it was strawberry guava season. The fruit saved our lifes on the way down. I was constantly grabbing them off the bushes to keep me distracted. This is definitely one of those hikes I will NEVER do again. My toenails are covered in mud and I think my legs look like they were clawed by a bear.
