May shenanigans

When we got back from Scotland Gavin got an email about an opportunity to go task force in Bora Bora for 6 weeks! We could not believe that he was selected to go. He would be leaving in just three weeks! Before he left we decided that a little trim on his hair would help him look a little bit more professional. He went to Super Cuts in town and turns out it was the ...WORST idea. He came back with all of his hair gone and looking like a punk skater dude. We were crushed not going to lie. Gavin was so sad and I felt so bad.. He called one of the Priests in the ward to see if could use his buzzer. He figured that having no hair was better than the skater look. I panicked because I didn't want to see his hair go. So I called the Relief Society President and thank goodness for her she was able to trim it up so that it looked a lot better. We sure stressed about it. The thing with hair is that it usually grows back pretty quickly especially Gavin's. Crossing our fingers it comes back quickly.

I had a work party at Kola Pizza Kitchen one night with all of the Concierges on the island. It was fun chatting with other people who do my same job. They were giving everyone 2 free alcoholic beverages which everyone was stoked about. One person saw that I didn't have one in my hand and asked me when I turned 21... oh my! I told them I was 24 and that I just don't drink...

The Pizza was so good Gavin and I went back after his haircut to find some joy again.

One day on my way to work my car just stopped on the hwy. When I pushed the gas it would just rub and not move. I put on my transmission lights and got out of the car. I hadn't ever broken down so I wasn't sure what to do. Gavin was sleeping because he got back super late so he wasn't answering my calls. Thankfully some nice uncle saw me and helped tow it to the side of the road. Then he gave me a ride to work. After several days of calling my insurance company, car places, and tow trucks I learned that the transmission in Tony needs to be replaced... I sure hope Tony can be fixed soon.

My cousin Kate came and stayed with me for a bit this summer! It actually worked out perfectly because Gavin was gone I didn't have to spend all my evenings alone. We watched scary movies, made treats, and laughed and laughed. Kate is the best!
