The month started off with some of the Young Women coming together to support a few of the girls at their last basketball game of the season. And let me just say what a game it was! It went into TRIPLE overtime. I kept texting the parents: “Delayed again!” But we couldn’t leave, we had to see how it ended. Sadly, it wasn’t our team that won. When the final buzzer sounded, a few of the girls just lost it, bawling their eyes out. It really felt like the end of an era. I was just grateful to be there to support them.
Here are some pictures from our various activities this month. We finally held our Book of Mormon Feast! Honestly, I feel like Young Women’s activities never go as planned. Oh well, as long as the girls have fun, I’m calling it a win. Lately, they’ve been getting sick often, which means low turnout. But I keep showing up, whether it’s 2 girls or 15. You just never know what each week will bring, and that’s okay. Gavin and I also had our last week teaching our Sunday class. And I was so sad. I have LOVED this calling. We have just had the best time every week reading and studying the scriptures together. I will miss these moody teenagers.

Also, still obsessed with my glasses, by the way. They’re so comfy and so darn cute. I get compliments on them at work all the time!

We also got to celebrate my sweet friend Eve and the amazing person that she is. She’s always throwing parties for everyone else and thinking of others, so we wanted to do something special for her to show how much we LOVE her. We threw a pizza-pasta garden party at Hannah’s house, complete with a showing of The Lizzie McGuire Movie. We had so much fun reminiscing about the outfits and songs that were basically the soundtrack of our childhood. There’s nothing quite like girlhood, I’m telling you. We’re all total girls’ girls, and we always have the best time when we’re together.
And finally, the island’s beauty never fails me. Here are just a few snapshots of the little things I might take for granted on a daily basis: sunsets, beach days, rainbows, you name it. Kauai is so precious, and I’m so thankful I get to live here!
