Now that I’m back to school in person, I feel like I don’t have much time for fun. It’s like I sit in class all day and then spend even more time doing homework. I actually liked online school better because I could do it any time of day and didn’t have to waste so much time listening to boring lectures.
That said, school is great! On the weekends, Sam has taken me on some fun hikes. The first was the Pink Pillbox on the south side. Apparently, almost all the hikes on the island end at some kind of pillbox. These were used way back in the day as military bunkers—places where soldiers could hide and watch the ocean for any signs of attack.
In my opinion, the pink one is the cutest! We even stopped for some yummy acai bowls on the way back to the North Shore.
Beach days are for the girls. I love running down to Temple Beach between classes to soak up some sun and swim. The ocean never gets old for me.
My new favorite hike is Crouching Lion. Holy cow, this hike is THE BEST AND WHY? Because it’s short, steep, and rewards you with the most incredible view of Kahana Bay. I could seriously sit up there for hours. I can’t even believe a place like this exists. I mean, Heaven can’t look better than that.
I went with Sam first, and later my friend Mckaylah joined me.
